RESAMA participates in the Forum on Refugee and Migration Policy in London

On November 3rd, researcher Diogo Andreola Serraglio represented RESAMA in the Forum on Refugee and Migration Policy in London. The event was organized by Chatham House – The Royal Institute for International Affairs together with the Overseas Development Institute, with financial support from Germany.

The meeting gathered many government representatives, members of international organizations, civil society and private sector, with the objective of reflecting on the reasons that generate and intensify forced displacement, focusing specially on climate change, disasters and food security.

Participants also aimed to examine how the international community has been responding to increasing pressures in this topic, and the subsequent development of good practices on national, regional and international levels, as well as the ways in which the Global Compact on Refugees and Migrants (expected result of the New York Declaration on Refugees and Migrants, still under discussion) can establish guidelines for a better approach to human mobility related to environmental matters.
